This section summarizes how local law in United States applies to your use of the platform. It is a summary, not legal advice, and does not replace the general terms above. Where local mandatory consumer law gives you greater rights, those rights are preserved.
- Applicable data protection law: Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable U.S. privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) for California residents.
- Supervisory authority: California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) for CA; state Attorneys General for other states.
- You have the right to access, rectify, erase and port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority listed above.
- Governing law: These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United States and the laws of the state in which the restaurant partner is located, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account, place an order, register as a restaurant, driver, or cook, enroll in the Cooking Academy, or contact support. This includes your name, email, phone number, delivery address, payment information (processed securely via Stripe), profile photo, and profile details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to process orders, coordinate deliveries, verify restaurant, driver, and cook registrations, run Cooking Academy sessions, process payments and payouts, send order notifications, and provide customer support.
3. Payment Data
All payment information is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card numbers or banking credentials. Payment authorizations and escrow holdings are managed through Stripe's secure infrastructure.
4. Location Data
For delivery logistics, we use your device location to calculate delivery distance, fees, and assign drivers. Location is only used during active orders and can be disabled, though a flat delivery fee will apply.
5. Data Sharing
We share order details (name, address, phone) with the restaurant and driver assigned to fulfill your order. Cooking Academy enrollment details are shared with your assigned cook partner. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting support. Restaurant, driver, and cook partners may update their profile information directly in their dashboard.
7. Cooking Academy & Cook Profiles
If you enroll in the Cooking Academy, we store your enrollment, preferred dishes, completed dishes, homework photo submissions, and AI teacher preferences. Cook partners' public profiles (name, photo, bio, specialties) are visible to students. Homework photos and final capstone preparation documents may be displayed in the Recipe Gallery. You can delete your academy data by deleting your account.
